Virginia I. Beney

Virginia I. (Martinsen) Beney, 77, of Camillus, died Saturday, January 22, 2005. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, February 4, 1927 and was the daughter of Lloyd and Violet Martinsen. Mrs. Beney lived in Niagara Falls until moving to Camillus in 1964 and resided at The Nottingham in Jamesville for the past two years. She was a graduate of LaSalle High School, served as a member of the Prince of Peace Altar & Rosary Society and was a communicant of St. Josephs Church. She was employed by Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls in the 1950's and Le Moyne College Bursars Office until her retirement in 2000. Mrs. Beney is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Richard J. Beney, who died May 2, 2003 and by her sister, Violet E. Frank, who died in 1964. Surviving are her five children, Kathleen Beney (Thomas Lenkiewicz) of Syracuse, Michael Beney (Sharon) of Camillus, Daniel Beney (Christine) of Boston, Anne-Marie Ark (The Hon. John Ark) of Rochester and Susan Beney of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Cheryl (Richard) Robinson of Amherst; one brother, Lloyd Martinsen of California; nine grandchildren, Bridget, Tom, Jack and Maggie Lenkiewicz, Sean Beney, Marissa and Sophia Beney, Jake and Megan Ark and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday, January 26, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088-6148 or to Susan G.
