William J. Klix

William J Klix, 82, of Fairmount, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1952 graduate of Most Holy Rosary School and received his bachelor’s degree in 1957 from St. Bonaventure University. He was an Army veteran.
Bill retired in 1996 after 37 years with Kemper Insurance Co. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church.
William was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mae; brother, Robert; and his first wife of 37 years, Geraldine.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Bartlett Klix; daughters, Lori (Robert) Thomas and Barbara (Eric) Maglisco; sons, William, Paul, Kevin (Jeanne), and John (Jeannie); stepchildren, Robert (Colleen) Bartlett, Christopher (Mary) Bartlett, and Lisa (Michael) Hartnett; sister, Mary (John) Scanlon; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 14 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. William will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, Inc., 6606 Kinne Rd., DeWitt, NY 13214 or to the Holy Family Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
