Marcellus

Alice (LaRonde) Johnson, 79, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully at home on Monday.

Born in Syracuse, Alice was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area. She was a graduate of West Genesee High School and dedicated the greater part of her life to caring for her family as a devoted homemaker. Later, she worked for more than eight years in the Marcellus Central School District as a food service worker and baker, where she enjoyed being with her kids and serving students and staff with her warm smile and caring nature.

A faithful communicant of Holy Family Church, Alice's faith remained an important part of her life. She and her beloved husband, Jon, were united in marriage there in 1966, beginning nearly six decades of love, partnership, and cherished memories together.

Alice found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved tending to her gardens, playing cards with family and friends, curling up with a good book, and trying her luck at the casino. No matter where life took her, however, her greatest happiness was always found in the company of her family. She treasured every gathering, every celebration, and every moment spent with those she loved most. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Jon; parents, David and Aline LaRonde.

Surviving are her daughters, Denice (John) Dunn and Kerry (Matt Micho) Strait, both of Syracuse; sons, Christopher (Sheila) of Dacono, CO, and Kelby of Syracuse; grandchildren, Brady and Rachel Strait, Jon and Alivia Dunn, and Cole Johnson; great-granddaughter, Harper Grace; sister, Judy (Tim) Perrault of Camillus; brothers, Dennis (Carleen) LaRonde of Lafayette and Paul (Tina) LaRonde of Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and a nephew.

There will be no services.
