Alice Mauro Kieffer, 95, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at Francis House. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a charter member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, and a former volunteer with Planned Parenthood and Campfire Girls. Alice was the former president of the Onondaga Guild of Van Duyn Home and Hospital. An accomplished artist, she loved to write, sketch, paint, and garden. Alice enjoyed reading and any movie starring Denzel Washington or Liam Neeson. Later in life, she was able to travel, visiting France, Israel, Hong Kong, Japan, Greece, and Jordan.
Alice was an adventurous soul until the very end and faced cancer and Parkinson’s with dignity and bravery.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph D. Kieffer III.
Surviving are her daughters, Suzanne (Pete) Estrada and Claudia Kieffer; grandchildren, Teddy (Karen Van Wey) Williams and Emily (Tim Call) Estrada-Call; and great-granddaughter, Wilhelmina.
There will be no services.
