Allen M. Reber

June 16, 1943 — September 14, 2020

Allen M. Reber, 77, of Geddes, passed away Monday at his daughter’s home with his children by his side. Born in Reading, PA, he moved to the Syracuse area in 1970. Al earned his bachelor’s degree from Rider University. He worked in insurance for 40 years and retired from The Hanover Insurance Group. Al was a gentle and kind soul, always forgiving and loved by all who knew him. His dream was to see the Philadelphia Eagles win a Super Bowl and it came true in 2017. He enjoyed reading, history and sports, especially Philadelphia teams. He also enjoyed going to Santangelo’s Restaurant with his dearest friend, Sheila Emerson. Above all, Al loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Al was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in 2003.

Surviving are his daughter, Kristen (Richard) Guertin; sons, Michael (Jody) and Tim (Diana); and grandchildren, Delaney, Sydney and Maddox Guertin and Brady and Jenna Reber.

The family would like to thank Cathy Carberry from Hospice and the many friends and family for their love and support in Al’s final journey. They are forever grateful for Kelly Rosenthal for her unwavering support, love and compassion.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 18 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.

Services will be private. Al will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
