Anne Marie (Pallagreno) Nappa, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday. Born on April 1, 1931, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Rose and Thomas Pallagreno. Anne was raised in Jamesville and graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1948. A gifted vocalist, she earned numerous awards as a solo artist and performed on local radio stations as well as at Radio City Music Hall.
On February 3, 1951, she married the love of her life, Neil Robert Nappa. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage, supporting each other through 17 moves across the country during Neil's career.
Anne was an avid bowler and golfer, and her talent on the green earned her the title of "Woman Golfer of the Year" at Tuscarora Country Club.
Anne was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband, Neil; son, Robert; and grandson, Alex Alciati.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane Nappa; grandchildren Koryn Madigan, Kimberly Nappa, Marissa (Greg Padden) Nappa, and Lauren (Devon Rothman) Alciati; and great-granddaughter, Vivian. She is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, who knew her as “Aunt Chick,” and by her grandchildren as “Ghea.”
To celebrate Anne’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A graveside service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Anne to Elmcrest Children’s Center, 960 Salt Springs Rd., Syracuse, NY 13224.
