Betty J. Grier, 98, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home on Saturday.
A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Betty devoted more than 70 years of her life to her career as a beautician, where she formed lasting friendships with generations of clients. Early in her working years, she was also employed for a short time at GTE Sylvania.
Betty embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She enjoyed golfing, skiing, and ballroom dancing, passions that reflected her vibrant spirit. A talented dancer, she shared her love of ballroom dancing by hosting lessons in the basement of her Camillus home, where many learned not only the steps but also the joy of dancing. She was also a former ski instructor, inspiring others to enjoy the slopes with confidence.
Above all, Betty treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and love for those around her will be remembered always.
Surviving are her sons, Stein (Cathy) of Centerville, OH and Eric Padersen of Camillus; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford (Pat) Yehle, Raymond Yehle, and Ron (Mary) Yehle; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sons of Norway Foundation, 1455 W. Lake St., Minneapolis, MN 55408.
