Beverly "Bev" (Natoli) Branshaw

October 11, 1939 — November 9, 2025

New Smyrna Beach, FL

Beverly “Bev” (Natoli) Branshaw, 86, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, at Auburn Community Hospital.

Born and raised in Oswego, Bev was a person of unwavering conviction and formidable spirit. While raising five children, she worked as an interior decorator for Grants in Oswego, where her eye for color and design brightened every room she touched. While residing in Oswego, one of Bev’s favorite hobbies was being a member of the Oswego Players theatre group. After moving to the Syracuse area in 1977, she earned her degree in journalism from Onondaga Community College. Bev went on to work as a journalist for the Oswego newspaper, where she enjoyed writing articles about her hometown community. In the early 1980s, she joined Bristol Labs in Syracuse, where she enthusiastically worked alongside scientists and engineers for over a decade.

In 1995, Bev left the snow behind and embraced the sun and warmth of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She quickly found joy in the vibrant pleasures of coastal life, including her cherished sailboats, friendly neighborhood dogs, and the warmth of the southern sun. She had a deep appreciation for astrology and the excitement of derby races, interests that reflected her unique personality.

Bev will be remembered as a plant whisperer who was wonderfully frank and never afraid to speak her mind. Her unique one-liners will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

Bev was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Gertrude Branshaw; and brother, Richard Branshaw.

Surviving are her children, Kandis (John Henry) Natoli of Edgewater, FL, Kristyn (Michael) Solamon of Camillus, Timothy Natoli of Williamsburg, VA, Thomas (Nannette) Natoli of Syracuse, and Noelle (Joe) DeSantis of Camillus; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Jan) Gibson and Cheryl (Phillip) Diehl, both of Oswego; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Bev’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow in the church.

Bev will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.

Contributions may be made to Helping Hounds, 7268 Caswell Ave., North Syracuse, NY 13212, or perform a random act of kindness in honor of Bev.
