Bjorn H. Woldbeck, 83, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born and raised in Norway, Bjorn was also married there before immigrating to the United States in 1968. He and his wife initially settled in Brooklyn, NY, before moving to Huntington, LI, there he built his life and career, before relocating to Camillus in 2002.
Bjorn was a graduate of Økonomisk Gymnasium in Norway. He worked for many years as a ship broker with Trans Mideast Chartering on Long Island and later spent over a decade as a truck driver. Known for his strong work ethic and independence, Bjorn took pride in the varied paths of his professional life.
An avid patron of the arts, Bjorn deeply enjoyed attending plays, musicals, and movies, often several times a week. His appreciation for culture and storytelling remained a constant source of joy throughout his life.
Bjorn will be remembered for his curiosity, dedication, and enduring love of the arts.
Bjorn was predeceased by his wife, Torunn Woldbeck; parents, Bjarne and Martha; and brother, Terje.
Surviving are his daughter, Tanya (Joe) Pellettiere of Tully; son, Lars (Donna) Woldbeck of Selden; grandchildren, Kai, Layla, Lilliana, Emmalyn, and Everett; one sister-in-law; and two nieces.
There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one’s favorite theater or to one’s favorite performing arts center.
