Bonnie M. Aupperle

Bonnie M. Aupperle, 73, of Marcellus, passed away Monday at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany, she resided in Guilderland until moving to Syracuse in 1970. A graduate of Guilderland High School, she received a Bachelor’s degree from The College of Saint Rose and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Syracuse University. Bonnie was a teacher at Fairmount Elementary School for six years and then stayed home to raise her four sons. While raising her children, Bonnie partnered with her husband, Dick in expanding their family business in property management. She enjoyed winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL, tennis, cards, reading and baking. Bonnie was an avid Purdue University and New Orleans Saints sports fan. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith and an active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Virginia MacDowell whom she dedicated her time to, taking care of, for their remaining years.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Dick; sons, Richard (Maria) of Camillus, Andrew (Beth), Matthew (Katharine) and Scott (Kimberly), all of Marcellus; brother, Robert (Deborah) MacDowell, II of Williamsburg, VA; aunt, Joyce Richter of Port Ewen; grandchildren, Ava, Richard, Adelle, Anna, Sophia, Emma, Ella, Madelyn, Matthew, Charlotte, Lauren and Leah; nieces and nephew, Rebecca Lecaroz, Megan and Ryan MacDowell.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 27 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Private burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
