Brian G. Northrup, 55, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1990 graduate of West Genesee High School.
Brian was employed for more than 10 years as a machine operator at New Process Gear. He was a communicant of The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter. Brian had a special love for animals and was a die-hard NY Yankees fan. He was passionate about music and singing, which brought him great joy throughout his life.
Brian will be remembered for his love of family and friends and for the many memories he created with those closest to him. Above all else, his greatest joy came from spending time with the people he loved. His presence, laughter and friendship will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brian was predeceased by his mother, Linda, in 2012.
Surviving are his father, Gerald of Syracuse; sisters, Tricia Northrup and Laurie Parrillo, both of Syracuse; and niece and nephews, Sarina, Jarred, Asher and Aiden.
There will be no calling hours.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, 4791 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse.
Private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
