Carmen D. Riccelli, 88, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Carmen was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Air National Guard.
Carmen devoted his professional career to caring for others through physical therapy. He served as Head of Physical Therapy at Upstate University Hospital as well as established and operated Carmen D. Riccelli Physical Therapy, where he was respected for his compassion, knowledge, and dedication to his patients. A faithful communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Carmen was also one of the original owners of Moto Masters Park, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of motocross.
Carmen lived life to the fullest and found great joy in motocross, snowmobiling, fishing, and basketball. He especially treasured the time spent at his summer home on the St. Lawrence River, where countless memories were made with family and friends. Above all, Carmen will be remembered for the love he shared with those closest to him and for the strong bonds he created throughout his life.
Carmen was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Blanche Riccelli; and daughter, Shari Riccelli-Pooler.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Sandra; daughter, Lisa (James) Riccelli of Liverpool; son, Lon (Kim) Riccelli of Marietta; grandchildren, Morgan, Alexis, and Nathan; great-grandsons, Weston and Logan; brother, James (Lecia) Riccelli; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Carmen’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Carmen will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
