Catherine "Cat" Hennessy

Catherine “Cat” Hennessy, 51, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at home. Born in Rochester, she was a 1989 graduate of West Genesee High School. Cat received her B.A. Degree in Psychology from Syracuse University. She was a seamstress for Syracuse Stage for 30 years. She was also a member of the West Genesee Marching Band and Syracuse University Marching Band. She enjoyed contra dancing and spent her summers working for various theaters around the country.

Cat was predeceased by her parents, Joan and Joseph Hennessy.

Surviving are her sister, Sarah (James) Starowitz of Manlius; brothers, Patrick (Cindi) and Michael (Betsy), both of Camillus; and seven nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, April 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In keeping with Cat’s wishes, guests are encouraged to wear tie dye or brightly-colored attire.
