Catherine Rockwell

Catherine "Katie" Rockwell, 81, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Syracuse, she lived most of her life in the Camillus area. Katie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She retired from the Camillus Middle School after 26 years working in food service. An avid SU and Yankee fan, she also was a member of the Camillus Fire Dept. Ladies' Auxiliary. Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Concetta Losurdo; sister, Angie Gauthier; and brother, Pasquale Losurdo. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Wallace J. Rockwell Sr.; children, Ann Marie (John) Chatfield, Wallace Rockwell Jr., Peter Rockwell, Constance (Robert) Kuppel, Edward (Lynn) Rockwell, Patricia (Chris) DeSantis, Daniel (MaryKaren) Rockwell and Christina (Joe Dattler) Rockwell; sister, Josephine Nicotra; brother, Peter Losurdo; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, April 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Monday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Catherine will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
