Cesar Pais Figueiredo, 88, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home.
Born on April 16, 1937, in Portugal, Cesar later moved to Brazil, where he married his beloved wife, Lina, in 1965. The couple immigrated to the United States in 1974 and settled in Camillus, making it their cherished home for many years. Cesar was a dedicated and skilled polisher in the casket industry, having worked for the Marsellus Casket Company in Syracuse.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. In his free time, Cesar found joy in gardening, a passion he embraced wholeheartedly. However, his greatest joy was always found in the company of his family, creating lasting memories with those he held most dear.
Cesar was predeceased by his wife, Idalina “Lina”, in 2025; parents, Jose and Ana Figueiredo; four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his son, Jose (Jacqueline Delia) of Liverpool; daughter, Ana Maria (Dean) Hardin of Camillus; grandson, Adam Hardin; granddaughter, Sarah Hardin; brother, Joao (Linda) Figueiredo of Camillus; sister, Amelia (Carlos) Monteiro of Portugal; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family of Cesar would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the 3rd floor at Iroquois Nursing Home for the kindness, compassion, and care shown to Cesar during his time there.
In honor of Cesar’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 20, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Cesar will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
