Chia-In Grace Li

Chia-In Grace Li, 91, of Manlius, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Iroquois Nursing Home.

Born and raised in Taichung, Taiwan, Chia-In lived a full and remarkable life marked by resilience, dedication, and a deep love for family and community. She earned her bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan Normal University and went on to become an English teacher in Nursing, Taiwan—a career that reflected both her passion for language and her commitment to helping others.

In 1979, Chia-In made the courageous journey with her husband, Charles, to the United States where they founded Liland Trade & Radiator Service & Libo International in East Syracuse, embracing a new chapter of life with grace and determination. A proud and active member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Upstate Taiwanese Golf Club, she was known for her intellect, warmth, and vibrant spirit.

An avid golfer well into her later years, Chia-In found joy and tranquility on the green. She also loved gardening, reading, and traveling, always curious and appreciative of the beauty in the world. Yet, Chia-In’s greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family and dear friends. Her gentle presence, wise counsel, and heartfelt laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Chia-In was predeceased by her husband, Tsun-Ting “Charles” Li; two sisters; and three brothers.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Sean Burke) Li of Manlius, granddaughter, Safia Razzuqi of NYC; sister, Jeanette Wu of McLean, VA; brothers, Dr. Chia Ching (Yvenchou) Liu of Washington, D.C., Andrew (Christine) Liu of Montreal, CAN, Chia Jan Liu of Rockville, MD, CT Liu of Moscow, ID, and Chia Lung Liu of Taiwan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be private.

Chia-In will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
