Christine (Cunningham) Theberge, 61, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital.
Known for her generous spirit, quick wit, and deep devotion to her family, Christine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength.
A graduate of West Genesee High School, Christine spent 23 dedicated years working as a teacher’s assistant for the West Genesee Central School District. Her warmth and kindness touched countless young lives, and she took great pride in helping students grow and thrive.
Christine found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending weekends at garage sales and antique shops, getting lost in a good book, floating peacefully in the lake, or baking something special for her loved ones. Her garden was always full of color and life, much like the home she so lovingly kept.
Above all, Christine’s heart belonged to her family. Whether it was trips to the library with her grandson or sharing everyday moments around the kitchen table, she cherished time with those she loved most. No one could outdo Christine when it came to two things in life: the pride she held for her children and the deep, abiding love she shared in her 38-year marriage.
Christine’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Christine’s longtime friends, Connie Bohrer and Sussie Rioux, for the loving care, unwavering support, and deep compassion they showed her throughout the past few months.
Christine was predeceased by her mother, Linda Cunningham.
Surviving are her loving husband of 38 years, Gilles; children, John Paul (Brittany White), Allison Theberge, and Timothy, all of Onondaga Hill; grandson, Beauden; father, Richard Cunningham of Onondaga Hill; brothers, RJ (Kelly) Cunningham of Skaneateles and David Cunningham of Baldwinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Christine’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
