“Most at peace with his guitar in hand or on the Pacific Ocean, by day. A poet and master of words...”
Christopher M. Brady, 66, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. Christopher found serenity surrounded by the Colorado mountains he loved so deeply. He lived life with curiosity, creativity, and a free spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
A graduate of West Genesee High School and the University of Northern Colorado, Christopher excelled athletically in his youth. His natural abilities allowed him to thrive as a cross-country runner, baseball player, and basketball player. Colorado became his true home, and the mountains remained a constant source of inspiration and tranquility throughout his life.
Christopher had a passion for learning and meaningful conversation. He loved listening to NPR and discussing current events and politics. His zest for creativity was evident in all aspects of his life. He was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, and embraced the outdoors whenever possible. Whether riding his bike, golfing with friends, or exploring nature, Christopher found joy in life's simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with others.
A true free spirit, Christopher could often be found working on a construction project wherever his gypsy heart happened to roam. He approached life with independence, loyalty, and an adventurous soul. Above all, he will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his lifelong friends and family, his generous heart, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.
Among Christopher's greatest blessings were his daughter, Brady Chanin, and his lifelong friend, Carolyn, whose companionship and support enriched his life immeasurably.
Christopher was predeceased by his father, Michael E. Brady; and beloved daughter, Brady Chanin Bidwell.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Brady; his sisters, Jennifer (Donald) Brady Schweibold and Susan (Mark) Presher; his nieces in California, whom he loved dearly, Winter (Evan) Camp, Reece Schweibold, and Cassidy Schweibold; and his nephew and nieces in New York, Morgan Presher, Laurel Presher, and Hannah (Jake) Grisewood.
Christopher’s memory will live on in the mountains he loved, in the stories shared by friends and family, and in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and loyalty.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
