DanaMarie KelloggShaffer

September 15, 1994 — March 30, 2026

Camillus

DanaMarie KelloggShaffer, 31, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, DanaMarie later moved to Camillus and graduated from West Genesee High School. She had a deep passion for music from a young age. While in high school, DanaMarie was an active member of the West Genesee marching band, as well as the choir and concert band. She played 12 instruments in the pit, served as a timekeeper, and enjoyed writing her own music. She continued to pursue her love of music in college as a music major at Onondaga Community College, and also shared her gift through singing in church.

DanaMarie worked as a rental agent at Avis for several years and was known for her friendly and welcoming personality. She loved traveling, especially visiting her grandmother, LaMyrle Shaffer, and spending time with her family and friends, who meant everything to her.

DanaMarie had many interests, including the medical field, tea, dancing, and playing softball, where she especially loved sliding into home. She could often be found bringing enthusiasm and joy to those around her and cheering for her “guys.”

Over the past three years, DanaMarie faced significant challenges after losing both of her legs, but she remained strong in spirit. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and able to dance again. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and love for others.

DanaMarie was predeceased by her father, David Shaffer; and grandparents, LaMyrle and Robert Shaffer II and Madelaine and Barry Kellogg.

Surviving are her mother, Elisa KelloggShaffer; and cousins in the Kellogg, Shaffer, Richer, Sweeny, and McGuire families.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 801 E. Colvin St., Syracuse, NY 13210.

Dana will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneateles.
