Daniel "Danny" Ryan

Daniel “Danny” Ryan, 63, of Camillus, passed away Friday at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of Camillus, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School. Danny was employed in the facility services department at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 40 years. He served on the Camillus Sports Hall of Fame committee and was commissioner of baseball for the West Genesee Athletic Club for 15 years.

Danny was an avid outdoorsman, amateur sailor and collector of things. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was a loving grandfather and treasured playing ping pong with his longtime friends every Thursday night. He will be missed by his loyal companions, Dylan and Finnegan.

He was predeceased by his wife, Linda; parents, Robert and Ella; sisters, Martha Harwood and Sister Mary Johanna Ryan, CSJ; brother, Michael.
He is survived by his sons, Sean (Sally) of Larkspur, CA and Brian “BJ” (Brienne) of CT; brothers, Tom (Kim) and Bob (Barb) both of Camillus; grandchildren, Shae and Sam; several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Danny will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. Danny was dedicated to his wife during her battle with leukemia.
