David M. Mutschler

David M. Mutschler, 72, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Crouse Hospital.

Born in Illinois and raised in Pittsburgh, David moved to the Syracuse area in the 1980s. A graduate of Brentwood High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Vietnam veteran.

David was a devoted member of Grace Assembly of God Church, where he was cherished for his prayerful spirit and the love he shared with his church family. His faith was an important part of his life, and he touched many through his kindness, compassion, and devotion to others.

A talented handyman who enjoyed working with his hands, David also had a keen interest in history and loved spending time on the golf course. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those who meant the most to him.

David will be remembered for his faith, generous spirit, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and church community.

David was predeceased by his sister, Laura Cox.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Amber; sons, John and Josiah, both of Syracuse; brothers, Paul (Kathy) and Danny (Katie), both of Arizona, Larry (Sue), Matt (Pam), and Michael (Kristen), all of Pittsburgh, and Ralph (Kate) of Illinois; sisters, Diane (John) Hayes of Philadelphia, Kathy (Woody) Kirby of Florida, and Marilyn (Bruce) Michaud and Lorraine Mutschler, both of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held, Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11 a.m. in Grace Assembly of God Church, 2515 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.

David will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
