Deborah Anthony

Deborah Anthony, 73, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday.

Born in Syracuse, Deborah was a lifelong resident of the community she loved. She was a graduate of West Genesee High School and earned her associate degree from Cazenovia College.

Deborah was the proud owner and operator of Westvale Golf Course from 1983 until its sale in 2023. Through her years at the course, she built lasting friendships and became a well-known and respected member of the local golf community. An avid golfer herself, Deborah found great joy both on the course and in the relationships she fostered there.

Above all else, Deborah cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, who brought immense happiness and pride to her life. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Deborah was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Helen Hewitt.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Michael; daughter, Megan (Brian) Hollister; son, Jamie Anthony; grandchildren, Dylan (Madeline Taft) Anthony, Ethan (Mia Rupert) Hollister, and Julia (Justin Christian) Hollister; great-granddaughter, Everly Hollister; brothers, Tom (Charlene) Hewitt and Gary (Mary) Hewitt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Deborah’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.

Deborah will be laid to rest in Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
