Donna Lee Mosher

Donna Lee Mosher, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, leaving behind a legacy of education, creativity, faith, joy, and deep devotion to her family. 

A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Donna was proud of her family and her CNY community. She graduated from Central Technical High School in 1967 and earned her Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn Community College and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Syracuse University, graduating with honors (magna cum laude). 

Donna found joy in her professional life while teaching and mentoring others. Starting while raising her two sons, she spent decades working as a substitute teacher in school districts throughout Central New York, regularly applying her talents in American Sign Language to teach Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and teaching American Sign Language to eager typical-hearing students. Later, Donna worked as an administrative assistant within Syracuse University’s Graduate Program. Donna retired in 2013. 

A woman of strong faith, Donna was a devoted member of both Camillus First United Methodist Church and Immanuel United Methodist Church. 

Outside of her professional life, Donna was a woman of remarkable creativity and refined taste. She was passionate about ballet and regularly had her radio tuned to WCNY Classic FM. An avid dressmaker and gardener, she possessed both skill and artistry, along with a keen eye for design and a love for decorating. Donna also had a deep interest in genealogy, enjoying the process of discovering and preserving family history while traveling throughout New York and Massachusetts with her beloved husband. 

Above all else, Donna cherished time spent with her family. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Eleanore Flath.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Donald; sons, Bradley and Brian (Mary Musial); granddaughter, Margaret; brothers, Randall (Nancy) Flath and Frank Flath; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Donna’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
