Dorothy M. Graser

Dorothy Mae Graser, 95, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 14 at The Commons in Auburn. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Dorothy and her husband, Leo, operated Wimpy’s Wagon (on the SU campus as “Mr. & Mrs. Wimpy”) for 18 years. In her later years, she pursued higher education goals at Onondaga County College. High on her list of many interests were travel and adventure, music, dance, fashion the beach (anywhere), swimming, reading and traveling to the Caribbean Islands in the winter.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Leo, in 1996.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Anne Trapanese in Larchmont NY; her son, Lee, and his wife Murrie in TN; granddaughters,
Tonya and Kelcy in NC, and Tegan in FL; six great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews across Indiana, New York and Massachusetts.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org), for St. Jude Donor Services.
