Edward J. Swiatlowski

August 22, 1934 — August 4, 2021

Edward J. Swiatlowski, 86, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Oswego, he was a graduate of Syracuse University with a master’s degree in education. Ed was a chemistry teacher at Corcoran High School for 37 years, retiring in 1995, and was Science Chair for the science department. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and active in the Knights of Columbus.

An avid ham radio operator (call signs: WA2URK), Ed was a member of the Radio Amateurs of Greater Syracuse. He was a member of the Camillus Elks, was active in community service, and enjoyed golf and bowling.

Ed was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, son, David, and daughter-in-law, Lisa.

Surviving are his son, Douglas of Liverpool; daughter-in-law, Christine Swiatlowski of Manlius; grandchildren, Ethan of Liverpool and Sarah of Manlius; cousin, Barbara Marcin of Herkimer; and extended family friends Sue, Jim and Joe Guszcza.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, August 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Ed will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
