Edward G. Turner

Edward G. Turner, 80, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Omaha, NE, he was raised in West Orange, N.J., and lived in the Syracuse area most of his life.

Edward was a graduate of West Genesee High School and later earned his degree from Cayuga Community College. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, automotive mechanics, and auto racing, always enjoying time spent under the hood or admiring a beautifully restored vehicle. Edward also had a keen interest in stock trading and followed the markets closely.

A devoted sports fan, Edward faithfully cheered on Syracuse University football and basketball and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees. He also found great enjoyment in music, especially the songs of his favorite artist, Neil Diamond.

Above all, Edward loved spending time with his family, cherishing the moments they shared together. He will be remembered for his many interests, his love of sports and music, his devotion to his family, and the quiet joy he found in the hobbies that filled his life.

Edward was predeceased by his son, Gregory; parents, Walter and Myrtle; and sister, Carol Turner.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Cynthia; sons, Timothy, David, Paul, and Scott; sisters, Patricia Donnelly and Susan (James) VanAtta; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

To celebrate Edward’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home.

Edward will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
