Edward Volcko

March 14, 1927 — November 5, 2020

Edward Volcko, 93, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Auburn Community Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School. Edward was employed with the United States Postal Service for 32 years before retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and longtime attendee of Steve's Restaurant, where he spent time with many of his friends. Edward enjoyed annual trips to Las Vegas and playing video poker games. Above all, he loved spending time with family.

Edward was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Arlene; parents, Dorotin and Elizabeth; he was the last of 10 Volcko children: sisters, Yolanda, Loretta and Theresa; and brothers, John, Andrew, Joseph, Frank, William and Paul.

Surviving are his daughter, Karen (Ronald) Dudzinski of Baldwinsville; son, Douglas (Ann Marie Ballard) of Marcellus; grandchildren, Andrea (Avi Zacherman) Dudzinski and Nick Dudzinski; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 12 at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Edward will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
