Eileen M. Robertson, 78, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Francis House.
A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Eileen was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in computer programming from Columbia College. She was a devoted communicant of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where she generously served as a member of the Vestry, Outreach Committee, and Circle V.
Creativity was at the heart of who Eileen was. She expressed herself through many artistic pursuits, including stained glass, painting, drawing, sewing, crochet, and knitting. Her home was filled with the beauty of things made by hand and heart. Eileen also loved to cook and bake, finding special joy in decorating birthday cakes for her grandchildren — each one crafted with care, creativity, and love. In quieter moments, she could often be found working on a jigsaw puzzle or enjoying a good book.
Above all else, Eileen treasured time spent with her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she delighted in every moment shared with them. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and remarkable ability to tell a story — often leaving listeners smiling, laughing, or feeling deeply understood.
Eileen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her warmth, creativity, laughter, and love leave a lasting imprint on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Donald Ruzekowicz; parents, Peter and Beverly Henderson; nephew, Scott Henderson; and grandson, Thomas Robertson.
Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Cass Moon) Naylor of Nedrow, Carlton (Nancy) Robertson of Fairport, Christine (David) Collie of Marcellus; bonus daughter, Debra (Bill) Swift of Syracuse; grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew Sharkey), Megan, and William Naylor; great-granddaughter, Annelise Sharkey; sister, Cheri Henderson; brothers Peter (K. Popple) and John (Kristy Hudson) Henderson; and several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
