Elaine S. Kobuszewski, 81, of Warners, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Crouse Hospital.
A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Elaine was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland. She dedicated more than 20 years of her life to teaching, serving students at Warners Elementary School, where she was known for her patience, dedication, and genuine care for every child she taught. Following her teaching career, Elaine continued to share her knowledge and skills as an internet trainer for MONY for five years.
Elaine’s life was marked by extraordinary service to others. She volunteered at Francis House for more than 30 years, offering compassion and comfort to those in need. She was an active member of the Felician Associates for over 20 years and faithfully coordinated religious education programs for Our Lady of Good Counsel, reflecting her deep commitment to her Catholic faith and community.
In her free time, Elaine found joy in baking, gardening, cooking, camping, and traveling. She took great pride in Polish family traditions, bringing loved ones together through food, laughter, and shared heritage. She was an avid Syracuse University sports fan.
Elaine will be remembered most for her kindness and unwavering care for others. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories filled with warmth, love, and togetherness.
Her legacy of service, faith, and compassion will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Irene Szczech; brother Gerald Szczech; and grandson Tyler.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Frank Sr.; son, Frank Jr. (Kathy); daughter, Dawn (Ed) Kirk; grandchildren, Collin, Emily (David) Sullivan, and Erin (Tim) Coulter; great-grandchildren, Carson and Kori Coulter and Cecilia and Ivy Sullivan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Elaine’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse.
A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Elaine will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.
