Eugene "Gene" Peterson

Eugene “Gene” Peterson, 59, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at University Hospital. Born in Schenevus, he lived in Albany for many years before moving to Camillus in 2016. He was a Navy veteran. Gene enjoyed cooking and became a well-known chef before his retirement. He loved spending time at his summer camp on Duck Lake.

Gene was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Daisy; and sister, Wendy.

Surviving are his wife, Carol; stepchildren, Heather Mossotti and Chris (Michelle Mariano) Mossotti; step-grandchildren, Ilaria, Mason and Rory Mossotti; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Reese.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 7 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
