Gail Marie Carlton

Gail Marie Carlton, 65, of LaFayette, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Upstate Community Hospital.

Gail was born in Preble and spent part of her childhood in the Camillus area, attending West Genesee High School until the 11th grade. She later moved to LaFayette, where she graduated from LaFayette High School and made her home for many years.

Gail worked as a home health aide, a role that reflected her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others. She was a deeply religious woman whose faith was an important part of her life. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her garden, finding peace and joy in both quiet moments and the beauty of nature.

Above all, Gail cherished time spent with her family. Her kindness, faith, and love for those around her will be remembered by all who knew her.

Gail was predeceased by her mother, Bettie Carlton-Baldwin; and twin sister, Judy Shepard.

Surviving are her father, Ralph Carlton; sons, Bradley Love and Lance Carlton; granddaughter, Lyla Carlton; sister, Brenda Lawyer; brothers, Dan (Julie) Carlton, Larry (Anh) Carlton, and Scott (Kathy) Carlton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

To celebrate Gail’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

Gail will be laid to rest in LaFayette Cemetery, LaFayette.
