Gary Lee Sampo

Gary L. Sampo, 78, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Health Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Onondaga Valley High School and received his associate degree from OCC. Gary was employed by Community General Hospital for over 44 years. A car enthusiast, especially for classic cars, he was a member of the Street Machines of Rochester.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, John and Vernice Sampo; and brother, Bruce.

Surviving are his companion and significant other of 15 years, Sherrie Bartella; daughter, Marie (Corey) Andalora; son, Gary (Darnell); grandchildren, Giada and Chiara Andalora and E.J. Sampo; brother, Mark (Cindy); sister, Sherri (Bruce) Allen; and several nieces and nephews.
