George Dimovski

George Dimovski, 91, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Velushina, Macedonia, George came to the Syracuse area in the early 1960s, where he made his home and built a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and community. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran.

George enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with General Electric, where he worked for 30 years as an electron beam lithographer before retiring in 1997. He was a longtime and active member of St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, where he generously gave his time and talents and was deeply involved in the life of the church for many years. His faith and connection to his church community were an important part of his life.

In his free time, George took pride in tending his garden and creating beautiful pieces through woodworking.

George was predeceased by his parents, Marko and Guvaza Dimovski; sister, Stefanka Stoikofski; and brother-in-law, Risto Stoikofski.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Stojna; sons, Steve (Paulette) of Valhalla, NY, and Paul of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, Matthew, and Steven; brother, Peter (Paca) Dimovski; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate George’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5083 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the church.

George will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church.
