Grace Haggerty

Grace Haggerty, 93, of Westvale, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Norwich, she was a 1940 graduate of Norwich High School and lived in Syracuse since 1952.  Grace retired in 1990 after 38 years with Sims Match Plate Corp. and previously worked for the law office of Menter, Rudin & Trivelpiece.  She was a communicant of St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish and a member of the National Institute of Secretaries. Grace was predeceased by her sister, Helen Wellin. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 15 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 417 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse. Burial will be private in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Grace's name to St. Charles Food Pantry, 4461 Onondaga Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13219.
