Helen (Dillabough) Bougus

September 8, 1928 — May 26, 2020

Helen (Dillabough) Bougus passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from complications of the Coronavirus at the age of 91. She lived most of her life in Camillus where she raised six children with her beloved husband, Henry Bougus, who predeceased her in 2005.

Helen loved socializing with family and friends at their camp on Montario Point, Lake Ontario and going out to have a cold beer and listening to other’s stories. She always said that she had a lot of memories. Helen had a happy disposition her entire life and was loved by all. She was a dedicated housewife all her life, but her greatest accomplishment was her love and devotion to her husband, Henry, for over 60 years.

After her husband’s death, Helen was diagnosed with dementia. Her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Mark gave loving care to her for over 14 years. Helen will be forever loved!

Helen was also predeceased by her son, Marty Bougus, in 2018; and grandson, Sammy Bougus, in 2017.

Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Steve) Brostek, Linda (Mark) Berger and Patricia (Anthony) Despirito; sons, Thomas (Lorraine) Bougus and Robert Bougus; sisters, Shirley George and Beverly Ball; brother, Ronald (Marion) Dillabough; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Bougus.

Services will be private. Helen will be reunited with her husband at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
