Helen (Slifka) Fallat

Helen (Slifka) Fallat, 98, of Fairmount, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Upstate Community Hospital. Born and raised in Syracuse, she lived in Auburn before returning to the Syracuse area in 1974. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Helen was predeceased in 2002 by her husband, Paul; brothers, William and Peter Slifka; and sisters, Pauline Till and Rosemary Baker.

Surviving are her son, Paul of Georgia; sister, Margaret LaValle of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5 at 10 a.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Helen will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
