Idalina “Lina” DeFigueiredo, 81, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Friday at Crouse Hospital.
Born and raised in Portugal, Lina’s life was marked by courage, devotion, and a deep love of family. She later moved to Brazil, where she met and married her beloved husband, Cesar, in 1965. In 1974, Lina and her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Camillus, which became her cherished home for many years.
Lina was employed as a label inspector at HP Miles in Syracuse, where she worked diligently for ten years. She was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus, where her quiet devotion and strong faith were central to her life.
Lina found joy in the simple pleasures—preparing home-cooked meals for those she loved, completing word search puzzles, and spending time in the comfort of her home. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her world and the greatest source of her happiness.
Lina will be remembered for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and the warmth she brought to her family’s lives. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Idalina was predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Maria Cardoso.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Cesar Figueiredo; son, Jose (Jacqueline Delia) Figueiredo of Liverpool; daughter, Ana Maria (Dean) Hardin of Camillus; grandson, Adam Hardin of Camillus; granddaughter, Sarah Hardin of Camillus; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Lina’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Lina will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
