Jack Gutchess, 91, of Camillus, passed away Thursday at home. He retired in 1993 as a construction superintendent with Visconti Construction after 38 years of employment. Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the United States and was an avid Syracuse sports fan. He enjoyed trap shooting and won countless tournaments and awards. He was inducted into the NYS Amateur Trap Association Hall of Fame in 1987.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Donna; daughter, Terry Canestrare; and brother, Allen.
Surviving are his daughters, Cynthia (Dave) Cadieux-Lautenslager and Nancy (Michael) Bandera; sons, James Gutchess and Gerry (Kris) Gutchess; brother, Frederick Gutchess; sister, Ellen Calkins; son-in-law, Richard Canestrare; grandchildren, Matt, Jeffrey, Corey, Sarah, Karley, Tyler and Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Collin, Avery, Connor and Amari.
The family would like to thank the tireless efforts of the home health aides who provided Jack’s care over the last several years.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
