James Francis Lynet Jr.

October 23, 1937 — June 22, 2022

James F. Lynet Jr., 84, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday at Matthew House, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Utica, October 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Lynet. He graduated from New Hartford Central School in 1956, followed by Niagara University. He was employed by GMAC as a finance supervisor for over 30 years before working for ADESA in sales. A United States Marine Corps veteran, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

On November 9, 1963, he married the late Eugenia Frances Servello, wife of 57 years, at St. Anthony’s Church in Herkimer. James was a member of Christ the King Church, Liverpool. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his son, James F. (Alaina) Lynet III of Camillus, two daughters, Jill A. (Eric) Smith of Baldwinsville and Amanda C. (Christopher) Marques of Middleton, MA, and ten grandchildren: Gabrielle, Zachary, Alexis and Austin Lynet; Eric Alex, Eva and Nathan Smith; and Isabella, Christopher and Mia Marques.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse.

James will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Dr., Auburn, NY 13021.
