Jane Gilberti Prucker

Jane Gilberti Prucker, 74, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. Born on March 13, 1952, in Rochester, PA, she was raised in Ohio View, PA, and made her home in the Syracuse area since 1967.

Jane was a 1970 graduate of Henninger High School, then went on to earn an associate’s degree from Onondaga Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. She was a compassionate registered nurse who devoted over 40 years of her life to caring for people of all ages, beginning with the NICU at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, moving into homecare at PACE, and retiring from her beloved Camillus Ridge Terrace Assisted Living Facility.

Beyond her professional dedication, Jane found joy in giving back to the community and volunteering at Francis House, where her kindness and empathy touched the lives of many. She was known for her unwavering spirit, warmth, and the profound love she held for her family.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, John and Elizabeth Kostelac; and sister, Louise.

Surviving are her husband, Tom Prucker; daughters, Erika Gilberti of Rochester and Alyssa (Matt) Albert of Oak Park, CA; step-children, Ryan (Jen) Prucker of Park City, UT, Matthew Prucker of Syracuse, and Kelly (Ryan) Calkins of Syracuse; brother, Jim (Susie) Kostelac of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen (Egidio) Iorio of Syracuse; grandchildren, Emily, Jackson, Audrey, and Saoirse; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Jane’s life, relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, August 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
