Jane Bradley Anne (Wilmes) Wiley

Jane Bradley Anne (Wilmes) Wiley, 89, of Skaneateles, passed away peacefully on Thursday at home.

Born on August 1, 1937, in Greensburg, PA, to Margaret and Charles Wilmes, Jane’s life was defined by love, family, faith, and a generous spirit. While in high school, at just 16 years old, she met the love of her life, Dick Wiley. After dating for seven and a half years, the two eloped on October 15, 1960, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned 54 years.

Jane and Dick raised their family in Onondaga Hill, where they built a home filled with love and countless memories. In 1989, they made their Skaneateles home their permanent residence, a place that would become another cherished setting for family gatherings and time spent together.

Jane was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Camillus and generously volunteered her time with several food-related charities throughout the community. A talented baker and seamstress, she often used her gifts to show her love and care for others. Whether something was freshly baked in her kitchen or lovingly stitched by hand, Jane put a little piece of herself into everything she made.

Above all, Jane will be remembered for the extraordinary love she so freely gave to others. She had a special way of making everyone she encountered feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Jane’s kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched countless lives, but there was no greater joy for Jane than her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the love she gave them will remain an enduring part of her legacy.

Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dick Wiley; parents, Margaret and Charles Wilmes; sister, Mary Kate Gainty; brother, James Wilmes; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Wiley.

Surviving are her daughters, Laura (Pete) Braggins of Rochester and Martha (Frank) Dickey of Skaneateles; sons, R. Bradley Wiley of Onondaga Hill, John (Gloria) Wiley of Marietta, Tim (Mame) Wiley of Easley, SC, and Jim (Jackie) Wiley of Spencerport; sisters, Margaret (Denis) Coughlin and Patricia Pohl; sister-in-law, Nancy (John) Book; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who were fortunate to know and love her.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A memorial service will follow immediately in the church.

In keeping with Jane’s joyful and colorful spirit, those attending are encouraged to wear fun, colorful clothing as they gather to celebrate a life so beautifully lived.

Burial in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.
