Janet M. (Rydelek) Petrocci, 86, of Lakeland, passed away on September 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith in God, love, and devotion to family. Born on April 22, 1938, to Mary and Frank Rydelek, Sr., she was a graduate of Solvay High School. Throughout her life, she held various positions, including an administrative role at P&C Warehouse.
A woman of deep faith, Janet was a life-long member of St. Marianne Cope Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland.
Janet was an active member of the Lakeland Senior Citizens, Altar & Rosary Society, and the Red Hat Society.
Janet had a passion for making beautiful floral arrangements, baking cookies, playing cards with friends, and going on adventures with her family. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice, even creating records in her teen years. Janet’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. Her presence will be missed by all of those who knew her.
Janet was predeceased by her parents.
Surviving are her children, Jeffrey (Susan) Petrocci, Pamela (James) Cifaratta, and Annette (Jerry) Cregan; grandchildren, Alexander (Gina), David (Annie), Sarah, Peter, Jeremiah (Katheryn), Matthew (Dominique), and Erin (Nicholas); great-granddaughters, Fallon and Faith; brother, Frank Rydelek Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Marianne Cope Parish ~ Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St., Syracuse. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the church.
Janet will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208, where Janet received wonderful care.
Sometimes God puts people in our lives that we think are supposed to help us, but were meant to help them.
