Syracuse

Janice L. Doty, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Upstate University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse. Janice was a member of the Missio Church and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #348 Salt City Post and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in East Syracuse. She enjoyed arts and crafts, particularly crocheting baby outfits and blankets.

Janice was predeceased by her son, Ronald, Jr.; and 15 brothers and sisters of the Golden family.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Ronald, Sr.; daughters, April (John) Raymond-Smiedy of Syracuse and Arisa (Neil) Widrick of Virginia; son, Andrew of Syracuse; brother, Clark Golden of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Missio Church, 620 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.

A funeral service will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery where Janice will be laid to rest.

Contributions may be made to the Missio Church.
