John F. “Jack” Glavin, 67, of Lake Mary, FL, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Friday. He succumbed to a very aggressive form of cancer, after a courageous, yet short battle of just five weeks. He took great pride in doing work for the National Football League Players Association, National Hockey League, National Basketball Association, and Major League Baseball.
John’s heart and love were always in the city of Syracuse; he never forgot his roots! He was a fan of all Syracuse University sports and had close ties to former and current S.U. players and staff.
John was generous to all, giving his time, talent, and wisdom to everyone. He had a positive outlook and an amazing sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife, Becky; daughter, Elizabeth Glavin (Nathan) Boese and their children, Emma, Blake, and Julia, all of Florida; step-daughter, Christine (Jim) Ettore and their children, Krysten and Kaylee, all of Florida; siblings, James (Madelaine), Ed (Charlotte), Dan (Rosanne); Margaret (Ed) Lazore, Marie Glavin, and Sharon Glavin, all of Syracuse; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
