John R. Curran

John R. Curran, 79, passed Thursday. He was a graduate of Syracuse Central School District and a member of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Roofers Local #195. John was a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved to fish and sports cars. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen Quinn and sister, Marilyn Curran Paganelli; Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Ann (Barsuch); children, Carrie (John) Sands, Jennifer (Darrick) Hokanson and Christopher Curran; siblings, Cathleen Danboise, Melissa Mariano; Robert Quinn Jr.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. John will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, 7268 Caswell Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212 or to the CNY SPCA, 5878 E Molloy Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211.
