Joseph J. Carino, 64, of Camillus, passed away on Sunday at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Camden, NJ, and spent the majority of his life in Syracuse.
Joe was a graduate of Williamstown High School in Williamstown, NJ. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as a steam and pipefitter with Lawrence F. Carino, Inc. for over 15 years.
Joe was a fun-loving man whose world truly revolved around his son, Joey. Becoming a father changed his life in the most meaningful way, and his devotion to his son and the sports he played was a driving force throughout his life. Joe never missed a practice or game—whether it was ice hockey, baseball, or lacrosse—always there with unwavering support and pride.
Joe deeply loved his family and especially cherished celebrating Christmas with them, a time filled with tradition, laughter, and togetherness. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and took great pride in his passion for all things automotive. Joe was also an avid collector of antique toys and possessed extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for his collection. He loved the Jersey Shore and looked forward each summer to spending time there with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence Jr. and Patricia; and brothers, Thomas and Lance.
Surviving are his son, Joseph Jr. of Camillus; Joseph’s mother, Kathy of Camillus; and brother, Lawrence III (Joanne) of Strathmere, NJ.
Services will be private.
