Joseph E. Fox, Jr., 75, of Syracuse, was called home by our Lord into eternal rest on Saturday. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Bishop Ludden and received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego. Joseph was a substitute teacher. He was also employed by Miller Brewing Co. for several years. A devout Catholic, he was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed meditating and praying. Other interests included politics, reading and sports. He enjoyed attending SU basketball games.
Joseph was predeceased in 2019 by his wife of 43 years, the former Kathleen Casey; parents, Joseph Fox and Mary Ann McNamara Fox; and son, James Fox in 2014.
Surviving are his son, Stephen (Misty) Fox of Manlius; daughters, Michelle Fox of Camillus and Carolyn (Jim) Lusk of Auburn; sisters, Christine and Coleen Fox, both of Syracuse, Mary Ellen Fiorille of Honeoye, and Nancy (Rudy) Fox-Reed of Syracuse; grandchildren, Allison, Maya, Malana, Olivia, Sloane, and Noelle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
Joseph will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to Holy Family School, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
