Joseph P. Piedmonte, 97, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Monday at the Syracuse Home Association.
Born in Holley, Joseph was a 1947 graduate of Holley High School. He made his home in Camillus in 1973, where he became a valued member of the community and remained for more than five decades.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a dedicated member of the Camillus American Legion, maintaining strong ties with his fellow veterans throughout the years.
A hardworking and respected professional, Joseph enjoyed a distinguished 34-year career with Verizon, where he served as a data processing manager. He retired in 1989, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Joseph will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast work ethic, devotion to his country, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Audrey.
Surviving are his son, Brian (Robin) Piedmonte of Camillus; granddaughters, Morgan (Michael) Przekop and Erica Piedmonte; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Declan Przekop; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, where Joseph will be laid to rest.
