Camillus

Judith (Wild) Peterson, 85, of Camillus, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday.

Judy truly lived up to her name with grace and was wildly beautiful inside and out. She was a treasured presence in the lives of those who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A 1960 graduate of West Genesee High School, Judy was voted "most beautiful." After 40 years as a bookkeeper with the Herald-Journal, she retired and devoted her days to the things that brought her the most happiness. Whether spending time with loved ones, going to yard sales, gardening, admiring architecture, antiquing, listening to jazz, or caring for the home she took such pride in until her final days, Judy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was always full of love and positivity that shone through her eyes and, even more, in her smile.

Judy leaves behind her longtime partner and companion, Craig Crowningshield; brothers, Don and David Wild; and children, Jolene DeLelys, John (Lisa) DeLelys, and Stephen DeLelys; grandchildren, Jordanne, Stephen Jr., John Jr., and Devin; and great grandchildren, Madison, Sophie, John Cole and Erika, all of whom she loved dearly.

In accordance with Judy's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private celebration of her life will be held with her immediate family.
