Karen (Micho) Heyde

Jun 6, 1951 — Jul 18, 2026

Marietta

Karen (Micho) Heyde, 75, of Marietta, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Syracuse, Karen was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area before making her home in the Otisco/Marietta community. She was a graduate of West Genesee High School and dedicated more than 40 years of service to the State of New York, where she worked as an auditor before her retirement. She continued her career by serving as a claims auditor with OCM BOCES in Liverpool for more than five years.

A communicant of Holy Family Church, Karen lived her life with kindness, devotion, and a strong sense of family. She found great joy in tending to her gardens, especially her orchids and roses and took immense pride in being a devoted hockey mom, enthusiastically supporting her son throughout his younger years. Whether cheering from the stands, caring for her home, or spending time outdoors, she embraced every moment with warmth and love.

Above all else, Karen treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, creating cherished memories that will remain in their hearts forever. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and selfless nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Helen Micho; and brother, Michael Micho.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Peter; son Erich (Keri) Heyde of Weedsport; brother, Richard (Liz) Micho of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Karen’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home.
